The Blu Dot Real Good Experiment

Blu Dot is a Minneapolis-based designer of modern furniture that believes that good design can go anywhere, not just apartments inside magazines. To help their first flagship store stand out in the modern design capital of the world (Wooster + Houston in SoHo), we tapped into the culture of curb mining and placed free, GPS-enabled chairs all over the streets of New York to see where they'd go.

We low-jacked the chairs with GPS-enabled Tracfones* so anyone could follow the chairs in real-time on Blu Dot's site. Followers could also get clues about the chairs' whereabouts through Twitter and Flickr streams.

*Technically, this was legal since we were following the chairs, not the people. Technically.
